Sunday was spent just enjoying the day with our friend Knute who was in town visiting. Miss A loves her Uncle Knute and spent most of the day asking him to read stories. Miss M spent the day showing off her new climbing abilities and can now get on the rocking horse without any help!

24/365 - Birthday Party Happenings
Today we had friends over to help celebrate Miss M's first birthday. Everyone seemed to have a good time even though there were a lot of us in a small space! Unfortunately for our friends' son Hank, there were quite a few girls who liked to help "take care" of the babies. Miss A had fun pretending to feed Hank - Hank however did not find it quite so much fun as he didn't seem to understand why there wasn't food on the spoon & why he kept getting held on the ground while they "took care" of him!

22/365 - A Birthday Wish
Today my baby girl Miss M turn one year old. It's hard to believe that it's already been a year and at the same time I can't believe it's only been a year. I can't imagine my life without her in it! Miss M is her own person in so many ways - I can already tell that she will be one to push the rules and will probably get into her fair share of trouble but will have a lot of fun while doing it.
Today we celebrated her birthday with lemon cupcakes - fitting because before she was born, we called her Lemon. Maya loved every bite of her cupcake and probably would have eaten more if we let her!
Happy Birthday my sweet girl. I wish for you a life full of love & happiness and for this to be only the first of many very happy birthdays that I can share with you.

21/365 - A Brief Thank You
I don't mention it much on here, but I have a wonderful husband. He frequently finds time in his crazy work schedule to help around the house and I just had to mention how much I appreciate the help - especially with the dishes!!!
So, in case I forgot to say it today Los, WOW :) and I really do mean that!

20/365 - Tiny Dancer
Miss A loves to dance. Put on any music and she will start dancing on the spot. Lately she likes to be a ballerina - this is her interpretation:

17/365 - What a difference a donut makes
Today we were having a hard time getting Miss A to eat her lunch. As we were trying to convince her to take a few more bites, I remembered that we had a few donut holes left. As soon as I told Miss A that if she ate the rest of her lunch so could have a donut, her entire face lit up and the food disappeared!

16/365 - Bedtime
The photos today weren't technically taken be me as I was in the photo, however I was the one who called to Los to ask him to get the camera!
Bedtime always starts very peacefully, however usually it ends up with one girl trying to smother the other with hugs - this results in a lot of giggles and me usually having to call an end to it since it's bedtime!!

15/365 - My Latest Projects
I have been on a hat knitting craze lately and rather than just continue to knit newborn hats for photo sessions, I opted to actually make a hat for each of my girls!
We had a brief (very very very brief) photo session today so that I could have a few photos to share.
Miss A was actually fairly cooperative:
Miss M, on the other hand, was not and spent most of the 3 minutes pulling the hat off her head with all of her might!
I will probably redo the hat Miss M is wearing as the pattern seems to have made it too long! And now I"m off to knit some more... :)

13/365 - Another Sick Day
When we bought a play kitchen for Miss A last christmas, I couldn't picture the scene that today's photos show. Now, however, it's virtually an everyday occurrence for Miss A & Miss M to cook together in their kitchen. Moments like this make sick days brighter.

10/365 - Concentration
It is rare that I get to see Miss M play by herself. Normally Miss A is there to join in, and frequently take over, whatever it is that Miss M does. But due to a short nap on Miss M's part and a longer than usual nap for Miss A, Miss M got some time to herself.
Turns out she loves this ball popper and spent at least 20 minutes playing with just this one toy.

8/365 - Aspiring Artist
Miss A loves art and all things stamp/crayon/paint related. This year Santa Claus (or Daddy Christmas as Miss A calls him) left a stamp set in her stocking so for the past 2 days we have stamp & coloring time after naps. Today A spent about an hour sitting at the kitchen table with her stamps, colored pencils & stickers deep in concentration creating her masterpieces. Maybe she'll love arts & crafts as much as I do!
She's growing up too quickly!!!!

6/365 - A little late
Ok, so I realize that this post is a day late and technically I did take this photo today instead of yesterday.... but really it's about yesterday so I figured it counts :)
Yesterday my need to make my house look like a home again and not like a disheveled toy store took over. To help with that goal, we took a trip to IKEA and came away with a storage solution for all of the toys the girls received for Christmas.
I was up until after midnight building both this storage system & a new rocking chair for the girls so the photo had to wait until the am.
Now my only questions is: Should I make fabric panels (almost like mini-curtains) to cover the opening when the girls aren't using the toys? Right now I feel like looks a little too utilitarian for what I want in my living room. Any thoughts?

3/365 - A Taste of Philly
Unfortunately because of traveling, I missed a day of photos and the 2 days I do have were taken with my phone! (But there are photos nonetheless).
We spent Saturday evening hanging out with old friends at a bar in the Philly area. A PA staple is Yuengling - a lager brewed at the oldest US brewery. It is one of my favorite beers but unfortunately I can't get it here in OH.

Starting Out - 1/365
For a while I've been thinking that I should start the 365 day project - essentially take & post a least 1 photo each day for a year. Looking at the photos I've taken lately, I have started to see that fewer & fewer photos are for me and instead are for clients of EKC Photography. While I was debating taking on the project, my good friend Janice posted on her blog that she was starting the same project so that has inspired me to start it too! (Thanks Janice!!)
So here is day 1/365.
